Kazpatent participated in a roundtable discussion organized by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan in cooperation with representatives of television and radio broadcasters. The event focused on the application of legislation in the field of copyright and related rights.
The roundtable addressed key provisions of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on copyright and related rights, as well as practical aspects of their application by users of copyright and related rights-protected works and subject matter.
Representatives of Kazpatent delivered a presentation on the Unified Digital Platform for Collective Rights Management (UDP), demonstrating its key functionalities, including the user registration process, submission of reports on the use of copyright and related rights-protected works and subject matter, as well as mechanisms for the collection, distribution, and payment of remuneration. It was noted that the implementation of the platform is aimed at ensuring greater transparency in collective rights management processes.
The event concluded with an exchange of views on the application of legislation and further improvement of the legal framework in the field of copyright and related rights. Participants were provided with clarifications on the issues raised during the discussion.
Kazpatent will continue its efforts to enhance the functionality of the UDP and provide information and guidance to right holders, users, and collective management organizations.
